Monday we will be IN PERSON, HARBERT CENTER, from St. Rep. Neil Rafferty on the current legislative session. Neil was elected to House District 54 in 2018, reelected in 2022.  He serves on the Economic Development and Tourism Committee, the Health Committee, the Jefferson County Legislative Delegation Committee, and the Transportation, Utilities, and Infrastructure Committee.  He received his B.A. in English and political science in 2010 from UAB.  He is a former Corporal in the U. S. Marine Corps.  He served in numerous positions with Birmingham Aids Outreach, including Director of Research and Development, and has been membership services representative for MedJet Assist.  Lots to talk about: the CHOOSE Act (which arguably undermines public education), bills to ban DEI among public entities, gaming legislation, and the new IVF law, among many others.  Neil has spoken to us many times.
