Monday, January 22: IN PERSON, HARBERT CENTER:  Barnett Wright, Executive Editor, Birmingham Times.  Barnett grew up in Philadelphia and worked at the Philadelphia Tribune, eventually as managing editor. He moved with his family in 2000 to Birmingham, where he took a reporting job at the Birmingham News, covering Jefferson County government. In 2012, he completed the commemorative book, 1963: How the Birmingham Civil Rights Movement Changed America and the World. In 2015 he became a contributor to the investigative news site BirminghamWatch. In 2016 he was named executive editor of the Birmingham Times. Barnett has spoken to us before, and is a thoughtful observer of the local scene.
